DEATH OF A FATHER AND FRIEND
My father, John Cullinane of Ross, Carrick-on-Suir died this morning. He fought so bravely for the past thirteen years and especially the last eleven years against serious illness [kidney failure].
We nursed John at home for that time and he was the perfect patient and I certainly would not change a single thing that happened during this time.
He was as brave as anything during the illness and surprised all the Doctors from Beaumont to Waterford University Hospital, not that they saw much of him. We continuously missed our appointments over the years but they saw the funny side of it as his original diagnosis all those years ago was anything but favourable and most thought a year would be his maximum back then.
He achieved a lot in his life and was a very quiet unassuming man that never harmed anybody. He will be greatly missed by us at home here.
John will repose in Walsh’s funeral home in Carrick on Suir from 5 30 to 7 00 and will then be bought to Rathgormack Church for 7 45. John will be buried following 11 o clock Mass on Tuesday.
God bless you boss.
