Taunton 3 45 : A midweek treat in store in this good handicap with a prizefund of 17,500 . Our  French purchase IBIS DU RHEU is on a retrieval mission after fluffing his lines big time on his debut at Cheltenham last month. For those of you who asked for a look at his run with Top Notch at Bordeaux last March here it is and judge for yourself. Top Notch beat him ,but by a rapidly diminishing margin. I will let you judge for yourself if you would fancy Top Notch in this event today !!!!

There is a distinct lack of pace in the race today and that is a big worry but I have to say that off a mark of 133 then one has to be hopeful.

2 pts win IBIS DU RHEU at 11/4 PP.

Keep an eye on Elis Gury after a few more runs as we now know he dislikes the gluey ground and will be seen to much better effect in Summer conditions.

Irving looked to me as if he needed the run Saturday and I think there is more to come from him but not in the Champion hurdle.

Gio’s Last is going back to Wolverhampton next Friday week for an apprentice race over the same 1m 4f and it would be great to see him chalk up a hat trick.
