SUNDAY MARCH 2ND. PAYROLL TIME.

A gain of 2.5 yesterday moves us to plus 15.5 in a very quiet season for the site. The reason for this of course is time pressures but the main thing is we stay ahead. Turn Over Sivola looked home and hosed and I am still trying to figure out how he contrived to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Today is interesting.

Leopardstown 2 50. I am going to take a chance that MIDNIGHT GAME might step up to the plate over this unusual intermediate trip. At the ratings only his stablemate and odds on favourite, Thousand Stars, can win but even though he has run well as a pacemaker for the illustrious Hurricane Fly at this venue he has blanked here other times when he really ought to have collected. 1 pt win at 9/2 PP.

Leopardstown 3 20. ACT OF PAYROLL is a real chasing type but should win here if there is enough pace on. In fact, I would like to see him in the van as they say. He needed the experience the last day on his first try in a handicap and would have been even closer but for being hampered by a faller at the second last. Paul Carberry takes over today for this very shrewd yard and the gamble can be landed. I have to admit I got some of the very early 7/2 and he has been smashed at all rates down to 2/1 now as I write this at 4 32 in the morning. 2 pts win and nap at that with PP.

LEOPARDSTOWN 4 20. I love HOME FARM as a racehorse and I hope he can deliver here over the shorter trip. He has a lot of weight but he also brings a fair amount of class to proceedings so a 1 point win at 5/1 with PP.

I will give an update on Cheltenham later today.
