PLUS 3 .75 SATURDAY AND 15.25 OVERALL. SUNDAY.
Sunday looks playable. I will preview shortly.
I didn’t get it as spot on as I thought on Saturday but a profit nonetheless. I thought Timesremembered looked sure to win but didn’t have the class of Captain Cutter. Inis Meain never jumped a single hurdle. Billy Dutton needs four miles. Be Perfect ran big to be second,Pure Science looked to be travelling like the winner on the turn in but couldn’t sustain his effort, follow him as he is well handicapped and will be winning, Violet Dancer pulled way too hard and I wouldn’t rule him out of the Fred Winter at the festival , he will be much more effective on good. Galician won as a nap should and Baradari also.
Bob’s Worth looked back to his very best and indeed even better. I have not seen him travel so easily as today compared to some of his other winning efforts in which he always hit a flat spot before rallying. He is going to have a big say in defending his crown. Sir Des Champs looked to have run poorly on initial impression but is it possible he was lacking fitness as this was effectively his first run of the season having fallen at the third in the John Durkan ? I will give him another chance.
Courage was very impressive in the Pertemps Qualifier and I would give him a big shout off a low weight in the final itself at Cheltenham. This was his first run at the trip today and will only improve.
Just a quick mention also of a 3 year old debutant called Big Baz who bolted in at Lingfield on the polytrack today, he will go on to better things.
Lingfield 12 50. BIG KENNY should take this mile nursery. I have him clear and a reproduction of his recent form will be plenty good enough. 1 pt win at 9/4 with PP.
Doncaster 12 40. MWALESHI is as game a horse as you are likely to see and he will be up against it here off top weight but there are lots of question marks over his rivals. He will give it some shot from the front so a 1 pt win at 11/2 with Coral or William Hill.
Doncaster 1 15. Paul Nicholls sends COWARDS CLOSE up from Ditcheat to contest his first handicap and I feel he has a big chance. A big honest chasing sort he should cope fine against this field. 1 pt win at 7/2 with PP.
Doncaster 2 20. There are some genuine excuses for the poor runs in REAL MILAN’S form figures. I will not get into it too deep but I think he is a blot on the handicap here and if his jumping holds up he will prove it. He is nap material at the freely available 9/2. 2 pts win.
Leopardstown 2 00. I now believe that Hurricane Fly is on the slide and it is time for the younger pretenders to claim his crown. I am going to side with JEZKI on this occasion over Our Conor. Tony McCoy will have to get the son of Milan to jump more slickly than his last couple of appearances but I expect he will. No excuses. 2 pts win at general 5/2.
