Doncaster 3 15. Could it be yet another winner for Hughes and Hannon ? I do not like the warm favourite Ihtimal and anyway the price is just way too short. The Hughes ridden LUSTROUS and the lesser fancied Clive Brittain filly HALLJOY are interesting and both are value.

LUSTROUS ran a decent figure on her debut just eight days ago at Salisbury and unfortunately Hannon wastes no time in chucking his filly out again so soon and upping her to Group Two level to boot. However ,the filly won easily despite running green and won with tonnes in hand so she should be able to take the two races so close together. She is by Champs Elysees who has made a good start to his stud career and is a sire to follow, he is a full brother to Dansili and Cacique. I expect LUSTROUS to enjoy the step up to the mile.

HALLJOY could be a bit of a bogey. She is improving and will relish the step up in distance also and is from a yard that can do no wrong.

If I get this race wrong it will hurt us by 2 hard earned points. 1 and 1/2 points win on LUSTROUS at 7/1 and 1/2 pt win on HALLJOY AT 12/1. Those prices are readily available.

Doncaster 3 50 : Richard Hughes again ? Yes. BARLEY MOW ran huge on debut twenty eight days ago and I will be shocked if he is beaten today. I rate this horse. 2 pts win and nap at 7/4 with Boylesports.

Doncaster 4 25 : SHROPSHIRE can do it. 1 pt win at 7/1 with Betvictor and a few more.

Best of luck…..
