Libertarian was hugely impressive. At first I thought Trading Leather was unlucky insofar as Manning took a pull when he should have been kicking on and then a huge late surge to get him back up to second but that doesn’t really tell the tale.

Karl Burke’s big son of New Approach deserved his win and won with a lot in hand. He is a giant of a beast and is as green as the grass he is running on. Yesterday will have thought him a lot. Initially I thought there was no way he would act around Epsom, now I am not so sure. This is one serious horse. I must look into the Derby in more detail in a later blog.

York 1 45. BELDALE MEMORY is one fast lady and and she was quickly snapped up by the mega rich Qatar Sheikhs after her runaway Bath debut success. She is very fast and I fancy her strongly to get the better of Quatour. last week’s easy Chester winner. 1 pt win at 3/1 with Paddy and several more.

York 2 15, It is worth taking a chance on KINGS WARRIOR seeing out this extra trip, he has bundles of ability and can handle the soft ground, it is all about the trip.. 1 pt win at 17/2 with BetVictor.

York 2 45. JOSHUA TREE normally gets it right. He might have too much class for the French raider. 1 pt win at 9/2 with Coral.

York 3 50. SECRET LOOK finished full of running in that hot sprint at Nottingham and if he can reproduce that then will go close here. 1 pt win at 17/2 with Bet Victor .

York 4 25. RYE HOUSE is ridiculously well handicapped in my opinion and if he doesn’t win today his turn is merely delayed. I have been waiting for him to run. Nap. 2 pts win at 3/1 with Paddy and several others.

York 5 00. MOMBASA went into several notebooks after a highly promising effort at Leicester on his reappearance this year ,staying on at the one pace over too short trip . This big galloper will relish the step up to a mile and a half and the soft ground. Before the non runners he was the punt of the day and the 4/1 with Bet Victor is going fast. 2 pts win at that price.

I am also having 1 pt win on RUNDELL at 4/1 in the same race in betting without the fav with Paddy Power. I really liked his maiden win at Bath last backend.

I hope to show a decent profit at the Knavesmire today. More later at other meetings.
