1000 GUINEAS. HOT SNAP.
I am looking forward to the 1000 Guineas much more so than I was to yesterday’s 2000 version.
Nick Mordin has gone on record in the press saying HOT SNAP is one of the best fillies in the last decade and maybe beyond. I am lucky to be able to converse with him and indeed I had come to the same conclusion almost simultaneously regarding Henry Cecil’s potential new champion.
Nick has the best speed figures in the world and his ratings are much superior to those of Timeform. Therefore we must take what he says very seriously indeed.
HOT SNAP excited us all with the way she powered through the pack and left the Group one winner Sky Lantern in her wake. The daughter of Pivotal ran green and got outpaced until after half way but then suddenly took off and burst the clock into smithereens. It was awesome. I nearly fell off the chair watching her.
The half sister to Midday will relish the step up to today’s mile and the possibility of a ” bounce” seems unlikely.
Nick advised his followers to get on at big prices but I was lazy and did not alert you so apologies there. Sky Lantern can chase her home.
I have no problem taking the still available 11/4 with PP and a host of others. Like my earlier bet on Stencive she rates a big punt also. 3 points win at that 11/4 and a second nap.
