7 15 PUNCHESTOWN. REALLY !!
7 15 Punchestown.
Bumpers are my favourite betting medium and I would love to see our overall profit in these as it could be huge. I know we get the odd few wrong but I imagine if one were just to play on those selections retirement plans could be in the offing. Nothing like putting yourself under pressure before the event but this is what the site has to offer on this tough affair.
Barry Geraghty [ unlike some] hardly ever rides a poor race but he might have have slipped up on Beat That when that horse was odds on to win at Kempton on debut. The runaway leader was given too much rope and Barry failed to haul him in. I felt the horse had ample time to do so but most scribes thought otherwise and had a pop at our Barry. We will see today who was right. They have Katie Harrington booked for Henderson’s warm favourite in todays amateur event.
I am going to plump for REAL STEEL who looked an out and out galloping type on his debut when he was second to the potentially smart The Tullow Tank at the Fairyhouse festival. He had the well beaten 8th ,MacNicholson , fifty one lengths behind hiM, and that one was only beaten five lengths in yesterday’s big bumper. Admittedly he pulled hard that day and raced wide but it is still a franking of the form.
I give REAL STEEL a ”real” shot in this. 1 point win at 6/1 with Bet 365.
