MONDAY MOVEMBER 12TH. QUICK REVIEW.
We managed one winner at 4/1 and two seconds from three bets yesterday for a one point profit which leaves us plus 220.5 starting out this week. We want to be on 230 by next Sunday.
Limerick is called off today so obviously my two do not run. Fourmilewater and Queenoftwohats were in the first two races but neither would have troubled the judge. I might try and get them in to Wexford next Tuesday.
Congratulations to De La Salle who were worthy winners in the Munster Hurling Semi Final. The final will be some clash with Thurles Sarsfields. We players Sars in two friendlies over the past two seasons with both very close encounters. I think Mullane and Co might just shade it.
Manchester United snatched victory from the jaws of defeat with the introduction of Hernandez. He is turning their season around. I do not harbour any love at all for Ferguson and his team but I must give credit where it is due. Time after time they do it and that is the hallmark of champions. Compare Fergie to Mancini , no contest, whatever happened last year. Mancini is petulant and self absorbed. It is about him, not his team. That will always end in tragedy. That is why they are struggling again in the Champions League where they meet proper opposition and not the giveaway free gifts of goals offered up through atrocious defending by awful Premiership teams week in week out in England. You will not meet too many defenders like Titus Bramble and Coloccini when you play the European sides. I do not rate Mancini at all.
Liverpool stuttered to a draw in Stamford Bridge. It looked unlikely and yet they were the ones that looked like scoring a second by the final whistle. Rodgers continues to look as if he does not know what he is doing. There was no spine at all to the team he picked. Chelsea walked through the middle until the last 15 minutes. Gerrard and Allen were overrun . Allen looked slow and tired yesterday . Playing Sterling at all is a mystery but to play him in a central role is madness. Suarez on the other hand was brilliant again. He is the one Premiership player that would get into the Barcelona team. Another ”note” to Brendan Rodgers, I cannot stand to see a manager with a notebook and writing throughout the game. I never saw it to work yet . Fergie would eat the paper as chewing gum, Pep G would use it to sit on in the rain and Paisley/ Shankley would give you that stare if you were foolish enough to bring it up with them, God rest their souls. The only place for using note paper in such instances is for a toilet emergency.
Winners coming for todays racing soon ……
