I am back to plus 201 overall. Turn Over Sivola went 3l clear on the run in and somehow managed to get caught. They tell me he nearly touched the minimum price on Betfair. I was so sickened I went playing my yearly round of golf on my one day off with trainer John O Shea. To add insult to injury I got beaten there too and had to pay up.The horse losing was bad enough but you know these trainers can be an insufferable lot so defeat on the 18th and loss of bragging rights to a Kilkenny man is just about the worst thing that could happen.

I hope to get things back on track today. The Breeders Cup is on this Friday and Saturday and I normally to very well . Nick will be a huge help of course as he is based in the USA . I will be tipping in every race and I look forward to this meeting as much as Cheltenham. Roll on weekend.

Anyway let’s try to make some extra betting money for the Breeders Cup spectacle with these selections today.

Lingfield 3 45. ESTEDAAMA 4/1. This 3 y old Marju filly has obviously had a setback as she has not been seen since winning on May 18th at York. I think she can overcome the absence. Tregoning does well with this type and he is becoming somewhat of an all-weather specialist. Hanagan is on bord for his retainer and he can force her up late from an unfavourable draw. 1 pt win at 4/1 , Stan James and Bet Victor.

Haydock 1 40, DEEPSAND 4/1. I am going to take a chance on this keen going bull of a horse in this juvenile hurdle contest. Such events are fraught with danger , inexperienced horses jumping hurdles at speed for the first time, all things can happen and generally do but I hope this likeable rogue is meant for this game. The highly regarded Suraj of course is odds on but Hemmings horse has real character and is worth chancing. 1 pt win.4/1 with Bluesquare.

Haydock 3 55, SEMI COLON 4/1. This Henderson trained 6 y old chesnut mare is still off a workable handicap mark of 120 for her seasonal debut. She must be fresh and held up in a decent sized field and in such circumstances is hard to beat .Her jockey , Jeremiah McGrath claims 5 and he will be trying to make up for the ride he gave this mare at Cheltenham’s November meet last year when he completely got it wrong and just failed to get up. He can make amends today . 1 pt win 4/1 with Paddy Power.

Punchestown, BUCKERS BRIDGE 6/4, Mouthwatering novice chase and the Waterford horse can do it . Unbeaten ,he could be very good in this discipline and he can get the better of the Giggingstown inmate and favourite.1 pt win 6/4 with Paddy Power.

Best of luck,

F M W.
