2 10 CURRAGH

The filly I am interested in this is UP. She has the highest rating of these and brings huge Group 1 form into this Group 3. I suppose that is the worry – why would you run a Group 1 established filly in a Group 3 ? She has 3 Group 1 placings to her name, 4th place counts as a placing for fillies /mares in Group races [4th in Breeders Cup and 4th in the Pretty Polly plus 2nd in the Poule D’essai de Poulliches French Guineas] .

In her last start in the Pretty Polly she was the subject of another very strange Ballydoyle ride. This time it was Colm O Donoghue doing the dodgy steering [ you are safe this time Joseph]. I suppose on the desperate ground ,Colm was trying to mind her and finish as close as he could to 2 brilliant older mares and this would explain why he left them get a huge first run on Up and in the circumstances she did remarkably well to finish only 2 1/4 lengths last of 4 ,flying at the finish.

Up is a high class filly, flew home in the Poulliches to finish second. She does hate heavy ground and that is my concern today. However  her current price of 3/1 helps me to get over that.

Weld’s filly Caponata is hot favourite and everyone is on her, she might prove Group 1 and I have to admit she has more size and scope than Up and is unbeaten and will love the ground and is on the up [ pardon the pun, pun intended].

1 pt win UP 3/1 with Paddy Power., if the price is right I might be recommending a bet w/o the fav with PP later, keep eye on Twitter.
